Seven-time Wimbledon singles champion Serena Williams made a tearful exit from the tournament on Tuesday due to an injury.
Williams bowed out of the competition in the first round and she looked devastated that her hopes for a 24th Grand Slam win was over.
Serena required medical assistance after going up in the first set 3-2 against her opponent Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus.
She was in pain and entered the court with her thigh heavily strapped and walked off the Centre Court at 3-3.
We’re heartbroken for you, Serena.

“I was heartbroken to have to withdraw today after injuring my right leg. My love and gratitude are with the fans and the team who make being on centre court so meaningful. Feeling the extraordinary warmth and support of the crowd today when I walked on – and off – the court meant the world to me.” -Serena Williams
This was the first time Serena bowed out of the competition in the first round in her 20 appearances.
Meanwhile, her sister Venus Williams moves on to the next round.
