Talk about hot & spicy! A Cape Town man added flavour to his life when he got down on one knee to pop the question in Nandos.
The couple from Milnerton went to the V&A Waterfront for lunch and for a fun day out which ended with a surprise proposal.
Magdalene Martheze, said yes. The 61-year old thought it was just going to be another regular lunch date but her boyfriend Marlon Michaels, 40 had other plans.
The couple who have been dating for 7-months met through a mutual friend who introduced them. Magdalene described her fiancé as hardworking and loving but their relationship had not been easy due to their age difference.
Marlon asked his soon-to-be wife to head to Pick n Pay while he went to the Nandos branch and set up his proposal.
The unsuspecting Magdalene found Marlon speaking to staff but didn’t think anything of it. Once seated, staff approached the couple with their phones and Magdalene knew something was off.
“Baby please stand,” Marlon told his smitten partner before he got down on one knee to pop the question in Nandos.
The loved-up pair are planning a beach wedding and are waiting for Covid regulations to ease a little.
