Riky Rick shared a heartfelt video on his IG live after attending Mongezi “Mpura” Stuurman’s funeral.
He reminisced about Mpura’s life on his IG live and spoke about his relationship with the fallen Amapiano artist who succumbed to a fatal crash this past week.
In the videos he says we should all not forget Mongezi “Mpura” Stuurman, and touches on the impact he had on his life:
“You’d been very hard pressed to find the type of character of Mpura, especially in our industry. It might seem you see this industry and is its like every place you want to be, it’s who you want to be, and when you’re inside it, you start to understand that an industry that’s lonelier than you think it it. He spoke at the funeral and gave a heartfelt tribute to Mongezi “Mpura” Stuurman with these words:
“We can’t fight with God for the answers cause we will lose every time. We have to have faith that Mongezi is in a happy place. We have to have faith that he is right next to Jesus right now, telling him the best bedtime story. There’s not much more I can say about Mpura’s music that hasn’t been said by the millions of people that mourn him. But what I can say is his real talent was not on the microphone, his real talent was his ability to make everyone around him realise that life was meant for living. He could make you laugh when you really felt like crying, he would pick you up when you felt the world was collapsing on top of you. When you had no more hope, he would look you in the eye and say don’t worry Grootman you will operate this one.“
