Member of Parliament Sibongile Khawula broke down today as she recalled the frantic calls from family members who’s loved ones were killed and burnt by vigilantes in Durban.
Khawula who is consultation in Chatsworth where members of the SANDF and SAPS as well as Bheki Cele.

Black people are victims all over again
She reminded those in attendance that they start realizing the far reaching impact last week’s incidents had on people’s live, and urged them to prioritize those who suffered from the attacks in Phoenix.
“I hear you are talking about malls/ATMs but I don’t hear you talking about the people who were hurt. I visited people in Phoenix. Some were burnt . People were butchered and dragged out of their cars. It’s sad that we Black people have gone back to being victims” – she said.

What really happened in Phoenix?
She gave a grimm picture of what happened in Phoenix and spoke about how she’s had sleepless night after what happened.

Sibongile Khawula is a former anti-apartheid activist from KwaZulu-Natal serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party since 2014.
Khawula is known for her insistence on speaking Zulu in Parliament.
