Lionel Messi left football fans with an emotional farewell as he exited FC Barcelona on Sunday. The football star who spent 21-years at the club has since been offered a deal at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The French club offered the six-time Ballon d’Or winner, an initial two-year deal, thought to be worth £25m a year after tax.
The Argentinian football star joined Barcelona in 2000 at the age of 13, famously signed his first contract on a serviette. He soon progressed through the ranks, making his first-team debut in a friendly against Porto on 16 November 2003 at the age of just 16 years.

It is reported by Sky Sports, Messi was prepared to take a 50% salary cut in order to stay at Barca but La Liga regulations meant the club would have to make a drastic reduction in revenues and would need to shed well over $200 million in salaries just to sign Messi.
