Don’t let his cold, hard stare intimidate you because Warren Masemola is the epitome of soft-spoken but formidable force to be reckoned with. He chooses his roles carefully mindful of the stereotypes that have impacted him and his career.
As he recounts with Unathi, it wasn’t easy for him to break into the industry as an actor, there were many obstacles he had to overcome.

His reasons for kicking off the masterclass is to leave behind a legacy that can set the foundation for future generations to come.
“When we got hit by COVID-19 last year, my wife was in her third trimester and I saw how other actors were struggling to survive with no work coming in. I also know how difficult it was to break into the acting world with no one training you, no one teaching you certain techniques. I had to learn this on my own and hone in on my craft. My son will be a year next week and I thought it is now the perfect time to leave a legacy in the industry.” – Warren Masemola
He feels ready to share the skills he’s learnt from building his career in the South African entertainment industry and doesn’t want the generation of actors that come after him to struggle as much as he did.
The multi-award-winning actor, best known for his roles on the soapie Scandal! in 2008 where he played art director Lentswe Mokethi.
Born in Garankuwa, Warren is also a highly acclaimed voice artist studying drama at the Market Theatre Laboratory, graduating from there in 2004.
