A video has gone viral on Twitter showing a parent assaulting a teacher.
The incident took place in South Africa, but it is not clear at which school.
The video was posted on Twitter on Thursday, 17 June.
In the video, a parent can be seen confronting a teacher, before assaulting her.
She is heard asking the teacher: “Why o busa bana baka”, which means why did you send back my children?
The teacher can be heard referring the parent to another colleague.
“O ka botsa Rre Mdluli ke ole” which means you can ask Mr Mdluli.

The parent can be seen ignoring the teacher and then tells her “la tella” which means you are disrespectful.
She then starts beating up the teacher until she falls down.

Many Tweeps condemned the parent’s behaviour. Some even asked the South African Police Service to intervene and said the school failed to protect the teacher.
Below are some of the comments.
This parent should face her music. You cannot assault anyone and again why can’t you go to the school address whatever issue you heard from your child to the Principal, they call this Teacher to come to the office as well..

Teachers in public schools are having it hard. They have to deal with unruly children and their parents as well. Teaching in public schools is an extreme sportš

Violence is a problem in many South African schools. In May, a teacher was fired after a video of her assaulting a Grade R learner went viral on social media.
The incident took place in Pretoria at the Nchuncheko Primary School.
