Cabinet has approved the rollout of vaccinations from Friday 20 August for the age group, 18 to 35 years.
Cabinet decision to approved vaccinations for the age group 18 to 35 is in response to a report from the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC).
NCCC says, “at least 9 million vaccines were administered in South Africa.”
Of the 9 million “over seven million people are partially vaccinated, and over four million are fully vaccinated.”
The decision was made to improve the “uptake of vaccines, particularly in provinces that had shown a reduction in the uptake of vaccines.”
Cabinet encourages unvaccinated South African to vaccinate and to avoid “misleading conspiracy theories”.
“Scientific evidence confirms that vaccinated people stand a better chance of surviving from COVID-19 than unvaccinated people.”
