Moja Love has announced that it will be reinstating ‘Rea Tsotella’ presenter, Bishop Israel Makamu.
The decision follows the announcement made by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) that charges against Bishop Israel Makamu have been dropped.
The broadcaster says a mediation was led by a professional and between the parties involved.
“After careful consideration and evaluation, the channel decided to reinstate Bishop Makamu to continue hosting Rea Tsotella. This follows a mediation, that was led by a professional, between the parties involved where they reconciled and agreed on a way forward.”
The station says the bishop is a favourite amongst the viewers.
“Bishop Makamu is great at his job and our audiences love him,” read a statement from Moja Love.
Makamu has been off from the station since May after a former employee of his church laid a complaint of sexual assault against the bishop and presenter.
The woman, who was a minor at the time, accused Makamu of making sexual advances towards her and later bribing the woman’s family.
Makamu was arrested in May and later released on R2,000 bail after making a brief appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrates’ Court on May 26.
