South African comedian, Trevor Noah continues to secure the bag, with news that the former Daily Show host has a new gig lined up.
Trevor will be the executive producer of the US version to the British topical comedy show, Mock The Week which will be available on Amazon Freevee.
The internationally acclaimed comedian will be taking a backseat on the show and a host for the show will be announced at a later date.
Production on the show will begin next year.
Co-creator of the late-night series, Dan Patterson said the half-hour show will feature stand-up comedy segments, panels and improvised games.
There will also be a segment made up of two teams of comedians taking swipes at each other in a satirical way.
Much like the Daily Show, Mock The Week will include current affairs, pop culture and world events.
In a statement, Trevor said that the move was a no-brainer because he’s passionate about comedy and paying his “rent.”
“Two things I’m most passionate about in life are paying my landlord and making people laugh. We could all use a little bit more laughter as we continue to navigate today’s crazy world.
By bringing Mock The Week to America with the talented Dan Patterson, I’m looking forward to doing just that.”
