
Rihanna to play Smurfette in the upcoming ‘The Smurfs Movie’
“The Smurfs Movie,” a new live-action/hybrid film from Paramount Animation, has cast Rihanna to voice Smurfette.
The statement was made by the celebrity on Thursday at CinemaCon, the annual gathering of movie theater owners in Las Vegas.
The Smurfs movie is reportedly not expected to hit theatres until February 2025.
Speaking at the CinemaCon, Rihanna revealed how excited she was to be part of the cast of the upcoming movie, and how she secretly wanted to play Papa Smurf.
“I tried to get the Papa Smurf role but It didn’t work out,”

This won’t be the first time the megastar-billionaire singer has made an appearance on the big screen.
She has previously had live-action films roles in Battleship, This Is the End, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Ocean’s 8 and Guava Island.
According to Variety, Rihanna will star, write and record original songs, and produce the upcoming ‘The Smurfs Movie’ project.
