
A 108-carat rare pink diamond has been discovered in a Lesotho mine.
In the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, the news of the 108-carat pink diamond found at Kao Mine is causing a stir.
The Kao Mine is Southern Africa’s fourth-largest kimberlite mine.
According to reports, the 108.39-carat, rough pink diamond is a type IIa (2a) stone and one of the largest pink diamonds ever recovered.

It was describes it as a fancy strong pink.

It surpasses the 47.81-carat “Pink Eternity,” discovered at the Kao mine last November, which had previously held the record for the biggest pink diamond ever discovered.
The Kao kimberlite diamond mine has been run by Storm Mountain Diamonds since 2010. It is situated in the Butha-Buthe District of Lesotho and is jointly owned by Storm Mountain Diamonds Ltd. and the Government of Lesotho.
According to the Storm Mountain Diamonds website, the Kao mine is one of the highest gemstone enterprises in the world, located at 2,500 meters above sea level.
