A cold front is on the cards for South Africa over the weekend with snow expected on the mountain peaks in the Western Cape.
The first cold front will hit the Cape on Thursday, 11 May, bringing with it high waves, rough seas and windy conditions.
Temperatures are expected to drop drastically from Thursday with heavy rains predicted for most of the country on Saturday and Sunday.
Another cut off low pressure system, or cold front will affect the Western and Northern Cape on Friday to Sunday.
Wintry conditions will see maximum temperatures hit the single digits from Friday, 12 May.
Exacerbated by the rolling blackouts, South Africans are warned to brace themselves for excessive cold over the weekend and to exercise caution.

Temperatures started dropping at the start of the week when cold, wet weather conditions kicked off the week.
The South African Weather Service has already issued warnings to KwaZulu-Natal amid the heavy rain predicted which may cause further flooding in the province.
Caution has been extended to residents in low-lying areas to monitor the rising water levels and evacuate when necessary.
