It hasn’t been a great day for South Africa’s shinning star, Thuso Mbedu who got backlash for thanking controversial YouTube podcaster MacG.
The actor, who is starring in an upcoming series “The Underground Railroad” set to premiere on 14th of May, thanked the “Podcast and Chill with MacG” host who gave her a shoutout on an episode uploaded on the 3rd of May.

The podcast recently got into hot waters for having homophobic remarks about transgender people and more recently for derogatory comments about Boity Thulo.
Mac G and his co-host Sol Phenduka congratulated Thuso for another upcoming series on Amazon Prime Video where she is set to star with Viola Davis.

Thuso Mbedu has since apologised and deleted the tweet.
I deleted a previous post as it seems to have offended some. I didn’t know why so I went to someone that I trust & who I knew could give me better insight. Others chose to educate me and it’s out of care and respect for them that I deleted my post.

Please note, “Delete this” and throwing side comments doesn’t educate anyone on anything & as a result, little to nothing is changed.

Tweeps have weighed in on the back and forth conversations:
What Thuso did was wrong, whether she knew about it or not is not a conversation I want to engage. Now that many of her fans have corrected her she should just apologise and show care not what she’s doing, the anger is very much justified. People are literally dying.

People r hard hearted. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, Thuso most likely made an honest mistake, call her out have her acknowledge she made a mistake & trust that she is mature enough to accept & take accountability. Why do you want to see her demise now? Are ya’ll perfect?
