We’ve all come across those people who like making snide remarks about other people’s jobs or careers. They think we don’t hear them, but their condescending tone is very loud.
Thomas and Skhuma ask Kaya 959 listeners to share snide remarks they’ve heard about their jobs.
“So you work at the radio? What happens after you knock off? What do you do with your life?” Skhumba shares some of the remarks he’s come across.
“Can I please remain anonymous, I’m a queue marshal at the department of Labour. The remarks we hear: they think they are better and they are getting paid with our money,” he shares.
Phumlani says his kids question the validity of his job since he started working from home.
“The funniest one is when it comes from your daughter or son. So you just work at home? Just sitting in front of your laptop the whole day while mom goes to work,” he shares.
U maHadebe is a social worker by profession and often hears people telling her that she takes people’s children away from them.
An Hr professional tells Thomas and Skhumba she’s tired of people reducing her job to just hiring and firing employees as she does way more than that.
