We all have fond memories of Christmas, new clothes, Choice Assorted biscuits, Christmas trees, and gifts.
“I remember growing up, the Christmas tree would go up by November, and you start seeing gifts going underneath, and you start checking for your name,” shared Thomas.
“What’s your family tree tradition when it comes to the Christmas tree,” asked Thomas in the third hour of the morning show with Thomas and Skhumba.
Skhumba revealed that he has four Christmas trees in his house. “I’ve got four Christmas trees, one outside, one in my bedroom, one in the dining room, and one when you open the door.”

A listener told the team that Christmas trees were not a thing during his childhood.
“This thing of Christmas trees we don’t know it, Thomas, there was a house in the neighborhood with lights – that was our Christmas tree,” he said.
Another listener shared the same sentiments about Christmas trees in her childhood. “We don’t know Christmas trees; we remember being woken up in the morning on Christmas to see the sunrise,” she shared.
Karabo from Centurion says that she had to buy her tree because her parents didn’t believe in it.
“I never had a Christmas tree growing up. The tree I got was the one I bought for myself. I saved up for an entire year and bought myself a present -my kids have a nice life,” she expressed.
Phumzile had a Christmas tree growing up, all thanks to her father. “I know a Christmas tree, thanks to my dad. He’d put a tree early, and the gifts were my party dress and matching socks,” she said.
