Have you noticed how whenever you argue with someone about mistakes you’ve made you’ll hear yourself saying – “nobody is perfect?”
Why is it so hard to cut yourself some slack when you confront your mistakes internally? It’s clear that no one is perfect, we all make mistakes.
“Do you constantly put yourself under pressure to be perfect? In what areas of your life do you feel that you don’t give yourself room to make mistakes?” Asks Thomas in The Morning Show.
Skhumba shares, “I am hard on myself so bad. Being a parent I always want to be there and I get mad at myself because I know I can do better. I don’t want to forget my family, I always wanted to have a strong family and be present in my kids’ life.”
A listener of the show, who is a preacher’s child is tired of society expecting him to be perfect. “We as preachers children are expected to be perfect, I’m also human and I’m not the one who is a preacher, my dad is.”
Another caller, who’s 25-years-old is feeling the pressure to have everything come together in his life. “I think it’s necessary, I can’t stand the pressure. I am 25-years-old and when will things come together?” he shared.
Here’s what some Kaya 959 listeners had to say on social media:
Mina I feel like I can do better in parenting my son (10). Also I need to improve on looking after my mom (82yrs). When I get home from work its homework, prepaing super for them. By the time I am done I go to sleep and not talk to them about their day. #ThomasAndSkhumba
