Though the month of love brings enormous pressure to showcase who is your love interest, to go on a date, get a flower surprise delivery at work, or be woken up with breakfast in bed; loving yourself should always come first.
Many singletons will sleep with a broken heart this Valentine’s Day, but really don’t have to.
You see when you love yourself, you stop feeling too compelled to enter into a relationship that’s not for you. Even if it’s only to say you have someone on Valentine’s Day.

The following tips will help you navigate this overcrowded month of ‘love’, and will give you ideas on how to simply love yourself even more.
Tip 1: Accept that you can’t make everyone happy
One of the biggest causes of stress in life is our obsession with comparing ourselves to others. This can bring you so much unnecessary pressure that you start doing things that have nothing to do with you.
An important rule to always consider is that you are running your own race and that loving yourself means always doing things that make you happy, not everyone will understand, and not everyone will be happy that you are happy.
Tip 2: Be obsessed with being kind to yourself
The world can be a very cruel place, and you need to understand that you can add to the chaos by being hard on yourself. Remember that the world will always praise success, and come down hard on you when you make mistakes.
The voice in your head should be your best friend, your cheerleader, the calm in the midst of a storm. Be kind to yourself.

Tip 3: Keep a tight circle around you
There’s nothing as important as evaluating the company you keep, your confidants and those you closely associate with. Keep this in mind as you undergo your self-love journey; that some toxic people need to be cut off your life.
Remember that you can always love people from a distance, if you want to love yourself more this year, protect your energy with everything you’ve got.
Tip 4: Try something new
One of the most exciting parts of any relationship is the honeymoon stage, where you go on dates, adventures, where you do breath-taking things you never thought you would enjoy.
It’s important to give yourself the same experiences, go on a solo date, join a cooking class, pick up a hobby, and start getting out of your comfort zone.
Loving yourself is always about being proud of the person you see in the mirror every day, and doing everything possible to give yourself a spectacular life.
