Matrix fans the world over have been counting down to the release of the official trailer for the 4th film, Resurrections.
Warner Bros. teased fanatics of the sci-fi franchise by launching an interactive website that changes trailers according to the time on the device you’re watching it on.
It’s a trippy play on the entire Matrix concept which had Keanu Reeves plugged into the real world. The website gives you the famous option of the red or blue pill.
Clicking on the red pill gives you a tease of Keanu Reeves reprising his role as “The One”, better known to fans as Neo. The blue pill has Neil Patrick Harris narrating a very grim reality check that there is no truth behind the ‘conspiracy’ that the machines are the enemy.
The teaser trailers are never the same and it’s amazing what the digital marketing behind the 4th Matrix film has achieved. The team probably felt they needed to go big or go home with this, after all, fans waited 18 years for this instalment.
The Matrix trilogy left off with Revolutions in 2003 with Neo attempting to broker peace between the machines and humans.
There has been much hype around the latest Matrix film with rumours that Trevor Noah and Priyanka Chopra have roles in the spine bending, gravity-defying flick. What has been confirmed is the release date which is set for 22 December.
