Loved ones, especially parents, tend to share information about their children that should be confidential.
Although it’s coming from a good place, some things should remain with close family and friends.
Oversharing is defined as – “The disclosure of an inappropriate amount of detail about one’s personal life.”
It appears this is a common problem among South Africans.
Tbose opened the phone lines on The Best t in the city for listeners to share their experiences with loved ones who overshare.
“My Aunt is costing and doesn’t see anything wrong. Koko Ntombi, you are costing me.
“I decided to be quiet and surprise her with the rest of the family. Mind you she is over 60,” said anonymous.
“Some go as telling other people how much their kids pay for rent and they don’t see anything wrong,” said uncle T.
Three TSpooons on why we should not overshare:
- To respect boundaries.
