Nozuko Ntshangase has never shied away from talking about her mental health issues.
The ‘Diep City’ actress has yet again opened up about the times she attempted suicide.
Speaking on her YouTube channel, the 26-year-old says she suffered from depression in her adolescent years. Her first suicide attempt happened at age 16.
She says she took allergex pills.
When that attempt failed, a year later, she tried to kill herself again, this time she says she drank paraffin. She was saved by her little sister who got into the room.

Nozuko says at age 24, she tried to take her life again due to being in a toxic relationship. She drank pills.
The actress is now an advocate for mental health.
She shared five tips to help a person survive depression.
The first tip is to meditate.
“Meditation is like resetting your mind,” says the actress.
She says she started off with five minutes meditation and that really helped her.

Another tip is to journal.
The actress says “it is important to write down your thoughts.
“Journaling helps you see what that is in your head, and in your heart and what you are feeling. It helps you understand what is inside of you,” she says.
Nozuko says is it is also important to find your identity and unlock your creativity. She says you must work on your imagination and imagine the best for yourself.
Lastly, she says take action and ensure you achieve your goals.
