Minister Gayton McKenzie, has said that there has been progress being made in efforts to introduce (VAR ) Video Assistant Referee to the the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL)
According to reports VAR has an estimated cost of R80 million for the initial setup and an ongoing cost of R70,000 per game.

Speaking to the SABC Sport, McKenzie said that the SAFA president is correct when he states that VAR is highly costly and that SAFA cannot handle it on its own because football brings happiness to all of us.
He further stated that The Government of National Unity, sponsors, and football enthusiasts, will make this happen.
