Recently appointed Cape Town City FC coach, Muhsin Ertugral, has claimed the January Betway Premiership Coach of the Month award.
Ertugral’s impressive record of three victories out of four matches, including two consecutive triumphs over Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, secured him the top spot. He edged out strong contenders such as Sekhukhune United FC coach Lehlohonolo Seema and Phuti Mohafe of Polokwane City FC.
Sekhukhune United FC striker Andy Boyeli, who scored four goals in January, was deservedly awarded the Player of the Month title. Boyeli found the back of the net with a goal against AmaZulu FC and a stunning hat-trick against SuperSport United FC.
The Betway Premiership Goal of the Month award went to Mamelodi Sundowns FC midfielder Lucas Ribeiro Costa for his acrobatic strike against Magesi FC in Polokwane. Ribeiro’s goal narrowly outshone fierce competition, including Mfundo Vilakazi’s solo effort in Kaizer Chiefs’ victory over Sekhukhune United and Devin Titus’ clinical finish for Stellenbosch FC in their win over AmaZulu FC.
