English second-division side Burnley FC has signed Bafana youngster Lyle Foster.
Burnley announced the signing of Foster on Wednesday from Belgian side K.V.C. Westerlo for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old striker has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal at Turf Moor, becoming the Clarets’ third signing of the January transfer window.
Foster began his career at Orlando Pirates’ academy and featured in 11 appearances for the first team times for the first team before moving to Ligue 1 with AS Monaco in January 2019.
He then joined Belgian side Cercle Brugge on a season-long loan from the French side, making 18 appearances.
The 22-year-old then switched to Portuguese club Vitoria SC, before joining Westerlo on loan for the 2021-22 campaign
Following a successful loan spell Foster joined the club on a permanent deal last summer.
The South African forward is excited about his move.
“I’m very happy to be here, I’m blessed and thankful for the opportunity and I just can’t wait to get started.
“From the moment I heard that there was interest from Burnley, my heart and my head were set on the club. I’m so happy to be here now. It’s a dream for me.”
