American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson smoked pot just before the upcoming Olympics
The American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, who was set for a star turn at the Tokyo Olympics this month, will miss the Games after testing positive for marijuana. Richardson, 21, won the women’s 100-meter race at the U.S. track and field trials in Oregon last month, but her positive test automatically invalidated her result in that marquee event.

Yahoo almost buying Facebook
In 2006, Yahoo offered $1 billion to buy Facebook, it was a bold move. At the time Facebook had 1/10th the subscribers of MySpace, which had sold for $580 million a year earlier.
Yahoo announced disappointing earnings and their stock subsequently fell by 20%. Yahoo decided it should lower its bid by 20% as well and the deal fell through. Zuckerberg may have eventually sold with the original bid, but surely would have if Yahoo came back with a slightly higher one. Recent reports have estimated Facebook’s current value at $104 billion with 800 million active users.

Blockbuster may’ve ruled the 1980s but today Netflix and other streaming platforms have completely changed the game.
Blockbuster could’ve continued their dominance to this day if only their bosses made better choices. In 2000, Netflix offered Blockbuster the chance to buy the business for $50m.
Blockbuster had to file for bankruptcy in 2010 and the last stores in Alaska was announced to close in July 2018.
Today, Netflix is valued at over $140bn.
