During our childhoods, we spent our holidays at our grandparents’ place and made many great memories.
This meant spending time with cousins. Late nights, sleeping on the floor. It was just a fun time.
Fast forward to today and you are not as close as you used to be with some of your cousins.
Kaya 959 listeners share why they are not as close with cousins as they were.
Skhumba shares: “Growing up, especially on my father’s side. It was a four-room house and everyone was there. All my cousins were there. I don’t know what happens when you grow apart. You start seeing things you don’t really like about them.
“I don’t have their numbers and I don’t think they have mine. On my mother’s side, it was just me and my two sisters and we are still close.”
A listener shares: “We had many cousins whom I grew up with. I really don’t see them anymore and I miss the slumber parties. But we had fun hey!”
Linda says he grew apart from his childhood friend.
“There was a guy that I grew up with in Tsakane. He introduced me to dating. We’d hustle the whole day so that we can put food on the table. As we grow up and get responsibilities everyone goes their separate ways,” he shared.
