Earlier we spoke about the arrest of Advocate Malesela Teffo who is representing four of the men accused of murdering Senzo Meyiwa.
During the arrest, it was alleged that there was a warrant of arrest issued by the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court as Teffo had missed a court appearance for a separate case.
Later in the day, it was reported that the advocate was released because the warrant of arrest used was issued fraudulently.
Thomas and Skhumba ask Kaya 959’s listeners “what do they make of the arrest and subsequent release of Advocate Malesela Teffo?”
Thabo Ramohapi shares: “We live in a mafia state where people just abuse state resources to intimidate and harass the likes of Advocate Teffo. If it’s true that the warrant was/is fraudulent, the state has a case to answer and compensate him for reputational damage, humiliation, stress, and all of the impacts this might have caused him.
“It’s strange that after mentioning Chicco Twala in court, the law enforcement officers decided to arrest him. He started punching holes into the evidence presented by the state. There’s more to his arrest than what meets the eye but time will tell.”
Stanley urges the nation to stand by and support the defense lawyer.
“Why would a warrant issued in January be brought to court on the trial day?? The evidence that Adv will lead in court will definitely implicate the minister and the SAPS.
“Teffo received a number of threatening messages to drop the case. I urge the nation to support and protect the defense lawyer as he will leave no stone unturned,” he shares.
