Following up on yesterday’s conversation about pocket money and lunch boxes, we got to see a variety of parenting styles based on the feedback we got.
Besides the affordability factor, a lot of parents mentioned that iskhaftin sabantwana is usually influenced by what the kids want.
Something our parents would never do, It was their way or the highway. This shows how parenting has changed over the years.
“I’d like to believe that I’m a cool parent, but at the same time, I’m strict. One day I just let them do whatever they want,” adds Skhumba.
Thomas and Skhumba ask Kaya 959’s listeners “how fun are they as parents?” – Basically, would they consider themselves cool parents?
A listener shares: “In most instances, I’m a cool parent. I allow them the space to talk to me about anything without me being angry about it. I go everywhere with her and we have to match.”
Palesa says her children refer to her as chomi. “Even in front of my church members. Even when they are asking me for lunch money they call me chomi.”
