The National Day of Action drew thousands of protesters at the Union Buildings. This follows the march which took place last Thursday under the banner of #AntiZumaMarches. Opposition leaders were united in today’s protest action. They all stood together in their cause, bringing along with them all their supporters.

The Union Buildings was filled with colorful images of people from all walks of life who delivered a message that the current incumbent President Jacob Zuma should step down.

Amongst the opposition leaders was the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters Julius Malema saying “This is not a once of event, its a rolling mass action.”

Today’s events collided with celebrations of President Jacob Zuma’s birthday which was celebrated in Kliptown. Zuma also celebrates his birthday on the same day as former Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.
