After a week of heavy backlash, OnlyFans scraps porn ban the online content-creator subscription site announced would come into effect in October.
The London-based company made the announcement last week that after mounting pressure from its payment processors the platform would be taking a more mainstream route and banning all sexually explicit content.
Now, in a reversed move, OnlyFans scraps porn ban as they have “secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community,” suggesting that it has new agreements with banks to pay OnlyFans’ content creators, including those who share sexually explicit material.
Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard.
We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change.
OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.

The company did not provide further information regarding which bank or banks they have a renewed payment processing agreement with. However the initial decision to scraps the explicit content was due to payment processing companies controlling the type of material porn sites are able to host and can ban payments to sites that for example contain revenge porn content.
