Omuhle Gela is the latest celebrity to launch her own skincare line. The actress says Ayanna Skin has been three years in the making.
“After 3 years of back and forth, Covid putting things on hold. Me putting things on hold and wanting to focus on my pregnancy, I’ve finally managed to complete my long-term dream/task,” she told her one million Instagram followers.
Omuhle says her line was inspired by her own skincare struggles.
“Being a woman of color I’ve struggled with pigmentation and uneven skin tone and I’ve never wanted to lighten my skin but I’ve always wanted to maintain, get [an] even skin tone and a natural glow WITHOUT makeup. My pigmentation got worse during and after pregnancy,” she revealed.
The ‘Muvhango’ star says she sampled all of the products on herself. Her close friends also tested some of the products, which are all unisex.
Omuhle says her skincare line is dermatologically tested. Ayanna Skin is launching in December just in time for Christmas.
“I’m so excited to plug you with my GLOW secret and I’m sure this FINALLY answers all your skincare regimen questions you had for me. I’ve been using this on my face for about five months and I’m SO HAPPY,” she concluded.

Building an empire
Omuhle joins Amanda du-Pont, Kelly Khumalo, Lerato Kganyago, Boity, and Makhadzi in the beauty business.
Makhadzi told Cassper Nyovest on a recent episode of ‘The Braai Show’ that her skincare line is “coming soon”.
Omuhle is not new to the world of celebrity business. She has several other business ventures under her belt.
She started hosting her ‘Mom’s Day Off’ luncheons in 2021.
“It’s very important that we have good conversations, network have good food and drinks and just let loose once in a while and most importantly EMPOWER one another as young black women raising our future generation…” she wrote on Instagram in June.
Omuhle’s next luncheon is taking place in November. Ntando Duma, Mpumi Pops, and Mona Phoshoko are special guests.
The 30-year-old launched her swimsuit line called TwentySwimwear in 2014, and also ran a catering business at one point.
Omuhle is the definition of “securing the bag”!
