Ntsiki Mazwai claps back at Mihlali Ndamase comparison
By Tamlyn Canham
Say whatever you want about Ntsiki Mazwai, but you can never accuse the poet of having low self-esteem.
The 40-year-old did not bat an eyelid when a Twitter user tried to make fun of her looks by comparing her to popular influencer, Mihlali Ndamase.
Mihlali almost broke the internet a few days ago when she shared a racy picture of herself in red lingerie.
One Twitter user wrote: “Mihlali makes everyone else look like Ntsiki Mazwai.”
As shameful as it is to bring someone down based on their looks, Ntiski – who has been called everything from “dirty” to “ugly” – clapped back with a spicy response.
“Here is what I wish for you to understand….. When I too wear facebeats, weaves and costumes I will be exactly the same as your fake beauties. Infact you will be stunned at how photogenic I am. But there is absolutely NOTHING they can do to have a mind like mine,” she wrote.
Ouch!
Ntsiki was not done with her shady behaviour. When one Twitter user questioned why she was calling other women “fake beauties”, she fired more shots.
“If your beauty still needs to be applied…. It’s fake sisi.”
While many of Ntsiki’s followers said they preferred intelligence over beauty, one tweep noted that she did not have to bring other women down while defending herself.
“I love self confidence, particularly when one is confident in their cognitive ability and aptitude. Kodwa when I speak as though other people are beneath me because they don’t have my mind… It’s… andazi, it feels unbecoming.”
