Wernich Botha has been released on R2 000 bail following his vicious attacks on two men in Klerksdorp over the weekend.
The 33-year old who was caught on camera assaulting the two men in the parking lot of a shopping centre in Doringkruin, Klerksdorp in the North West, on Sunday has been charged with attempted murder, and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
One of Botha’s victims, has reportedly been admitted to hospital after suffering severe brain damage, having been knocked unconscious.
Both men were left laying in a pool of their own blood after Botha’s assault.
As reported by News24 one of the men, a 44-year old suffered a shoulder injury and a concussion.
While it is unclear what the cause of the incident was, comments on social media suggest that Wernich Botha confronted the first man he assaulted, because he was suspicious the man was having an affair with his girlfriend.
When a group of people had gathered, and attempted to diffuse the situation, another man was also punched in the face, by Botha and knocked unconscious, bleeding from the nose.
The incident took place on Sunday, 03 September, and police are investigating a case of attempted murder.
The matter was postponed to 19 October.
