Democratic Alliance (DA) leader, John Steenhuisen has explained his party’s election advert which shows the South African flag burning.
Steenhuisen explained that if South Africans continue to keep the ruling African National Congress (ANC) is power, South Africa will be burnt to ashes.
The DA’s election advert has raised eyebrows with social media users shocked that the party would resort to burning the country’s flag which represents the “rainbow nation.”
South African advocate, Thuli Madonsela called the DA’s action ill-advised, saying it’s a crime to burn a national flag in some countries.
However, the DA are of the opinion that the flag represents the country as it stands, which is being burnt to ashes under what it calls the “Doomsday Coalition” between the ANC, EFF, and other dangerous parties in the multi-party charter.
“We believe it’s our patriotic duty and our duty as the official opposition in the country to inform the electorate, that the future of every South African family is in danger from the impending takeover by the ANC, EFF Doomsday Coalition.
Provincial and National coalition governments between the ANC and the EFF and their fellow radical populists will set South Africa on fire.
The same straight shooting message is what is depicted in our latest advertisement, and you will see that as voters sit back and allow the ANC and the EFF to take over South Africa, our country will literally be burnt to ashes.
To be absolutely clear, so there can be no misunderstanding, the visuals do no represent what the DA wants for SA, nor what we want to see happening in SA, but it represents the fear of what will happen if voters don’t go out in large numbers on 29 May and stop the Doomsday Coalition dead in its tracks.”

It is now the patriotic duty of every freedom loving South African who wants to Rescue SA from an ANC-EFF Doomsday, to make sure they come out and vote for the DA on the 29th of May.
Because, in this election, the stakes are just too high to stay at home.
