Members of Parliament begin the impeachment debate and vote over President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Phala Phala scandal.
DA leader John Steenhuisen pleaded with all 400 MPs to vote against the President to take the power away from him.
Steenhuisen said Ramaphosa is confident that the Phala Phala scandal will simply be swept under the rug and he will not face any repercussions for his actions.
EFF Commander-In-Chief (CIC) Julius Malema said, “Ramaphosa had pissed on the Constitution of the country.”
“Ramaphosa is avoiding questioning and scrutiny like a fugitive and is spitting in the face of the freedom people have fought and died for.
Instead of using the impeachment process to clear his name, he has mobilised his party to protect him. It is an accepted fact that he didn’t declare foreign currency.”
