Management at Gold One East Mine in Springs says it expects to receive a memorandum from workers who are currently underground.
At this stage it is unclear whether over 500 miners are hostages underground or striking miners affiliated to labour union AMCU, staging a sit-in.
Phemelo speaks to AMCU General Secretary, Jeff Mphahlele and NUM National Spokesperson Livhuwani Mammburu about the situation at GoldOne Mine in Springs where miners have allegedly been held against their will.

Members of the media have been refused access to the mine where all gates were closed by security barring access to the facility.
Security guards told Kaya News that management of the mine instructed them to ensure that no one comes in and no one goes out.
