More than 70 houses were destroyed in KZN due to heavy rains.
Over the weekend, disruptive rains caused street flooding and numerous person displacements.
The storms over the weekend claimed the lives of at least four individuals in KwaZulu-Natal. The storm ripped roofs off houses and caused damage to infrastructure, including power cables, roads, bridges, and vehicles.
For coastal regions in the province’s southern regions, the South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued an Alert Level Six warning.
Teams from KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Disaster Management are now helping those affected by the weekend’s severe winds and rain, which wreaked havoc across the province, especially in Mtubatuba in the north.

Community halls and churches have opened their doors to the public, while others have sought alternative accommodation with relatives,” the department said in a statement.
