Two men were arrested for their alleged involvement in the Phala Phala farm robbery.
This was confirmed by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (HAWKS) on Monday, 06 November.
The suspects, aged 39 and 30 years are expected to make their first appearance at the Bela Bela Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 07 November.
According to the HAWKS, the suspects were arrested on Sunday, 05 November, and Monday, on charges of housebreaking and theft.
Arrests were made in Rustenburg and Bela Bela by members of the National Serious Corruption Investigation in relation to the Phala Phala arm break-in that occurred in February 2020.
The hunt for the third suspect is still on.
In June 2022, former spy boss Arthur Fraser laid criminal charges against President Cyril Ramaphosa for the alleged theft of millions of dollars.
Ramaphosa was accused of concealing the theft of hundreds of thousands of Dollars, which was hidden in the sofa at his Limpopo farm.
Fraser claimed that not only was the money stolen with the President’s knowledge but that he withheld this from relevant authorities.
Ramaphosa was cleared of any wrongdoing in the matter after the South African Reserve Bank concluded its investigation into the robbery in August.
