A shooting at Solo restaurant in Sandton last night left three people dead and four others injured.
The incident happened on Thursday, 6 March 2025, after an argument over the restaurant’s no-gun policy turned violent.
According to police, a man tried to enter the restaurant with his bodyguards but was stopped because the restaurant does not allow firearms.
An altercation broke out between the bodyguards and the restaurant’s security, leading to a shootout.
Two bodyguards were killed on the spot. Five others—the man, two patrons, a community patrol member, and a security guard—were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
The man later died in the hospital, bringing the total number of deaths to three.
Police say the man involved had been arrested last year for a shooting in Sandton.
No arrests have been made as of yet, and investigations are ongoing.
