Phone communication has never been easier. Whether it’s a traditional call, an online call, or even a video call, staying connected is simpler than ever.
But while every call starts with a “hello,” not every call ends with a “goodbye.” Phone etiquette used to be a big deal, but these days, it feels like the “phone call rule book” might be fading away.
For some, saying “bye” at the end of a call is no big deal. For others, it’s a must. It’s one of those little things that means different things to different people.
So, what do you think? Is saying goodbye at the end of a call still important? Drive 959 asked its listeners to weigh in.
Skhumba noted that he hardly ever calls people, so whenever he does, it’s serious. “I hardly call people, so when I call you, it’s important. I’m not just calling to check on you,” he shared.
“So, if I call you and you tell me there’s another incoming call, can I call you back? Please don’t cut our conversation short because it makes me feel like what I’m calling you about isn’t that important.”
Kgomotso, on the other hand, revealed that she prefers phone calls. “I’m a caller. I hate texting; I hate the wait. I can’t text you and then wait for an hour for you to see my message. I’d rather dial now,” she said.
Glen Lewis agreed. “No, she does. It doesn’t matter where we are.”
