The mortal remains of soldiers who died in the DRC return home.
The mortal remains of Lance Corporal Irven Thabang Semono and Captain Simon Mkhulu Bobe will be formally returned to their families by the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) on Wednesday.
The remains will be formally turned over today at Waterkloof Air Force Base during a military procession ceremony.
It is anticipated that among the officials present at the handover ceremony will be Thandi Modise, the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans.

The soldiers were sent to support and aid the government of the second-largest country in Africa in reestablishing peace, security, and stability as part of the Southern African Development Community Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (SAMIDRC).
On Wednesday of last week, a mortar bomb inside one of the South African contingency military bases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) killed Bobe and Semono and injured three of their colleagues in the RSA base in SAKE, Eastern DRC.
