The South African government received humanitarian supplies from Qatar on Sunday to aid with the recovery from floods in KwaZulu-Natal.
Food, clothing, and medical supplies are among the items provided.
On Sunday, a plane bringing the relief arrived at Durban’s King Shaka International Airport.

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala thanked the Qatar Government on the occasion of receiving humanitarian aid from the Embassy of Qatar, at King Shaka International Airport.
“We are grateful today to the Qatari Government for lending a hand and offering humanitarian support to the people of KwaZulu-Natal and South Africa. The fact of this friendship and this humanitarian aid soften the blow and warms the hearts of the people of KwaZulu-Natal.” said Zikalala.

According to Zikalala, the death toll from the floods in KZN has risen to 459.
This comes after the province was battered by a second bout of floods in early May.
He also added that there are still 88 individuals missing and R25 billion in infrastructure damage.
