The family of actor Mpho Sebeng confirmed his passing following media reports on Sunday afternoon.
“The family of the South African entertainer, Mpho Sebeng, are saddened to confirm, to the public and media that their son has indeed passed away.”
Sebeng lost his life in the early hours of Sunday morning in Potchefstroom due to a tragic car accident.
While the family appreciates the immense outpouring of love and condolences, they have requested space to process the news.
Details of his memorial and funeral service will be announced in due course.
Mpho Sebeng was born in Johannesburg and attended West Ridge High, matriculating in 2011.
At the age of twelve, his mom’s friend spotted him in a school production and encouraged him to pursue acting.
He got into Soul Buddyz after auditioning for a part as gang leader Slay. He also played the role of Tsietsi Mashini in the 2011 movie Winnie.
Sebeng starred in Ring of Lies, The Queen, The Brave Ones, and Savage Beauty on Netflix, among many others.
