This past weekend, the Bala family laid their dear uncle, Buyile Nkumanda, to rest in a heartfelt service filled with love, music, and remembrance.
The Bala siblings shared moments from the funeral on social media, offering a glimpse into the emotional farewell.
Zwai Bala posted a moving tribute, writing, “Bidding our very, very dear uncle farewell with the one thing that is unmistakably unique when we are united.”
He continued, “My uncle had-and was-an extraordinary spirit of peace and unity. And when the family (yes, the whole family) would sing together, he might as well have been in heaven.”
Zwai expressed his hope that his late uncle would continue to watch over the family from the other side.
“Now that you have crossed over, Malume, and are free from all the clutter of this world, may your awesomeness unite us again in this sweet harmony. I want this for you, Tshangisa. It is the best way we could honour you. Ngokubona kwam ke phofu.”
He closed his tribute with a touching farewell: “We are missing you so much already. Rest well, Malume. Till we meet again.”
