South Africans are questioning the possibility that the Soweto tavern incident was more than just a ‘random mass shooting’. This after the State of Qatar called the incident an ‘act of terrorism’.
In a statement released by the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the State of Qatar, the shooting was condemned with the state “rejecting the violence and terrorism regardless of the motives and reasons.”
“The State of Qatar expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of the shooting incident which took place in the suburb of Soweto in the city of Johannesburg in South Africa, and led to deaths and injuries.”

Since the statement was released a number of South Africans have been questioned whether the mass shooting was part of a bigger motive.
Speculations of an extortion cover-up is circulating, as the reason for the deaths of 15 patrons at the local tavern.
Calls for stricter gun control measures in the country have been highlighted, with President Ramaphosa calling for swift action to bring the perpetrators to book.
