On Tuesday, 17 December Sbusiso Lawrence Ntaka shocked the nation when he posted a disturbing video on Facebook in which he confessed to murdering his ex-wife Nontobeko Cele.
In the chilling video which has since gone viral, Sbusiso appears to justify his reasons for killing 25-year-old Cele and proceeds to show her lifeless body lying on his car.
According to reports, Sbusiso Ntaka took his own life on Wednesday, 18 December. This comes after his lifeless body was found hanging from a tree not far from the scene where he fatally stabbed his 25-year-old former lover at Malangeni in Umzito.
Speaking from the scene of the crime, Sbusiso’s father, Sipho Ntaka told Newzroom Afrika that the couple was in fact customarily married but had broken up after Cele fell pregnant with another man’s child.
Sipho said Sbusiso initially kept Cele’s betrayal a secret and later confessed it was because he loved her and didn’t want to tarnish her image to the family.
He further described his son as a quiet person who drank alcohol but never showed any signs of violence.

In a statement released to the media The Minister of Police, Mr Senzo Mchunu, said he strongly condemns the appalling act of gender-based violence.
“This shocking incident is a grim reminder of the ongoing scourge of gender-based violence in our society. Such acts of violence are a betrayal of our shared humanity and have no place in our nation,” he said.
