SA weather warns of the first heatwave in Gauteng.
A weather warning has been issued by the Gauteng Weather Service for the first heatwave of the 2023/2023 season possible in Gauteng beginning Wednesday.
People who are exposed to heat waves may experience shock, dehydration, and severe heat diseases it can also possibly exacerbate existing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.

The warning was issued on Twitter with a caption:
“Breaking: First heatwave of the 2023/2023 season possible in Gauteng beginning Wednesday.”

According to Almanac.com, being prepared for the heatwave requires you to make adjustments to your days to day life.
They have offered a few tips on how to survive the coming heatwave.
- Stay hydrated with plenty of water—even if you’re not thirsty.
- Never leave children or pets alone in hot vehicles—even for a second.
- When you’re outdoors, make sure you stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible.
- Set your air conditioners to a lower temperature and use curtains or blinds to keep direct sunlight out.
- Don’t drink alcohol, sugary soda, coffee, energy drinks, or other caffeinated beverages, as they dehydrate you!
- Wear light, loose-fitting, airy, light-colored clothing and a hat made of breathable material.
