A Pretoria créche has been exposed for alleged child abuse after videos of children being beaten by caregivers were shared to social media.
Darwin’s Educational Playground Aftercare Créche is under fire as parents were made aware that a mother and her two daughters were manhandling and abusing children.
The accounts of abuse were shared by another teacher at the school who had tried to warn parents what was happening at the Pretoria créche.
Owned by two sisters, Lizelle Guida Zimmermann and Lucinda Correia, the créche also employs their mother Anna Peyper Correia who is a teacher.
Disturbing videos of toddlers being grabbed and dragged by their arms, beaten on their bums, manhandled and shaken have since circulated.
Tiffany Mostert, the teacher who is reported to have witnessed the children being abused said she needed proof in order for parents to believe her.
This is when she decided to film incidents where the mother and sisters would hit, shove and manhandle the kids.
As reported by Rekord, Mostert resigned from the school earlier this year, citing the ordeal had taken an emotional toll on her.
According to the report, two parents at the créche have since removed their children from the children.
Two cases of assault have also been opened at Hercules Police Station, Pretoria.
The Pretoria créche has not been registered with the Department of Basic Education and lawyers for the accused women say they cannot confirm the videos were taken at their facility.
