Premier of Gauteng, Panyaza Lesufi has applauded the South African Police Services (SAPS) for the swift arrest of Belinda Magor.
Belinda spent the past few days trending on social media after her “Kill the black man!” Belinda Magor blames her racist rant over pit bulls on diabetesracist rant in favour of pit bulls and calling for black men to be shot instead went viral and sparked mass outrage.
On Saturday, 26 November, Belinda was arrested after a number of politicians supported criminal charges being laid against her.
This after the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) was set to investigate a case against Belinda for hate speech.
Her views were that pit bulls should be saved and people should rather shoot and kill black men because they rape, kill and steal, worse than any crime a pit bull commits.
Belinda also expressed that black women should have their uteruses and ovaries removed so they can no longer procreate, because according to her every black person ends up being the same.
Lesufi was amongst one of the political figures to push for Belinda to face the law for her comments which were shared on a community WhatsApp group.
The 60-year old woman was arrested and released the same day on a warning and is to appear in court on 27 March 2023.
Thank you so much SAPS for her arrest, truly appreciate the swiftness #BelindaMagorArrested pic.twitter.com/H5l0cXvSPC
