A missing 6-year old boy has been found with his genitals mutilated in a veld in Boksburg.
The boy was found near the Blue Sky informal settlement, alive last Tuesday, on 28 February and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Details about how long the child was missing for remain sketchy at the moment.
In an attempt to find the perpetrators who maimed the child, authorities are calling on the public to share any information with the police.
Tambo Memorial Hospital and a welfare organisation have confirmed that the boy’s genitals were cut off.
A case of murder has been opened and police say they are searching for the suspect.
“We understand the child is alive and transferred to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital after he suffered serious injuries to his private parts. We will give full support in ensuring the culprits are brought to face the full wrath of the law.
We will put in a safety plan and intensive therapeutic intervention for the child and his family.”
